Community men and boys was spotted using plantain branches to celebrate festival.

Ogbogu Community in Egi kingdom, Oga-Ndoni-Egbema Loca government Rivers state is located in the Northern part of Rivers State.

The youths popularly known as "Ogbogu Boys" was spotted today using Plaintain branches to mark the begining of their masqurade ceremony in the ongoing "Egwu-Ogba festival".

The Ogbogu Boys hold mask and plantain branches, any boy or young man walking in the street or riding bike without a mask would be thoroughly whipped with the plantain branches. Ladies were not allowed to walk in the streets, they were targets for whipping with the branches too, only ladies carrying babies and oldies were free.

Sometimes they would face each others in battle, with the stronger side emerging winners.
